Princess Love - Chapter 8

"This is only getting worse." Jen mumbled to herself as she walked around her room in total bewilderment.  She was sure that she was going to loose her mind pretty soon.
"No... This is NOT happening." She said and cried to herself.  She couldn't believe it, it was the last person she thought she would see on the television.  Not only that, but he killed a Royal Prince.  He had made the life of another individual end and had ruined the life of the Princes' family.

Elizabeth was in the same bewilderment that Jen was in, but more so. She stood on the bridge, looking down at the clear water.  She wasn't going to jump, just think about it for awhile.  There she stood, on the bridge on a chilly English night without her husband to hold her.  Not only that, but there was going to be another Prince or Princess on the way and there was no one to tell, the day of joy had turned into a day of sorrow.
"Why are you standing here all alone?" She heard a male voice say behind her and she turned around.  It was late, the day after the murder. She was standing there in pitch-black with nothing to cover her freezing body.  Not only from the cold air but from the chills that pulsated up and
down her body, her nerves were on edge.
"I don't know... I feel better out here." She said turning back to look out at the water.  She couldn't see the man that stood behind her, only the shadows of the water dancing on his face.
"Aren't you cold?" He asked again and stood next to her on the railing.
"No." She lied, her eyes not moving from the water, she watched the reflection of the moon.
"Aw.. you got to be kidding me." He said and took his jacket off and put it on her.
"Thank you." She said, not looking him in the eye. "Where are you from?" She asked, hearing the voice of an American and the ring of an southern accent.
"The United States." He said and smiled at her, but she didn't see it.
"Yeah, so am I." She said, it was the truth, partly.
"What is your name?" He asked her, he strained to see her face but he couldn't see it.
She paused for a long moment, not sure what to say, she didn't want him to realize who she was. "Liz." She said, hoping he wouldn't pick up on the fact that Liz was short for Elizabeth, the Princess.  "What is your name?" She asked.
"Brian." He said and she turned to face him, her face still hard to see.
"It is nice to meet you Brian." She said and shook his hand.
"It is nice to meet you too, Liz." Brian said, wondering if she was not telling him something.
"Thank you, I must be going now." She handed back her jacket and quickly walked up the street.
"Um... Was that who I think it was?" Brian asked as he looked down at the water and frowned. "Nah." He said and went in the opposite direction that she had taken.

"Do you have any family sir?" The heavyset man in his mid-thirtys asked James.
"Yes." He said without thinking, then regretting it.
"Who?" He asked sitting across from he tired man.
"I don't." He said, looking at his hands.
         "What?"
"Have a family." He said, still looking down at his hands.
"Yes you do, you just said you did." The detective said, writting everything down on a notepad.
"I made a mistake." He said, slowly looking up at the detective who had everything but compassion on his face.
"According to this," the detective said, looking down at a thick file, "you had a wife and two daughters." He said, he was fishing for a clue to the other murder that he had commited.
"Oh yeah, that's right., I forgot." He said, turning red.
"You forgot!? You forgot that you murdered your wife in front of your daughter? You forgot!?  Your daughters almost died! You almost killed your entire family, but you forgot." He said, not able to control his anger.
         "No-" James began.
"Yes! You are wanted for two counts of murder.  You killed your wife and you killed the Prince of England, or did you forget that too?" He asked and signaled to the officer standing outside to come in.
"Yes sir?" The young deputy asked.
"I want an all out search for Jennifer Thompson and Samantha Thompson, in the United States." He instructed the deputy.
"But we will have to call in American forces." The deputy, John, said.
"Do whatever it takes." The detective said, eyeing that criminal with hate that was visable even the deputy was getting uncomfortable.  "And throw this guy into a cell." He said and the deputy led James to the holding cells.

"I feel so bad for that guy's family." Nick said as he stretched out on the hotel bed.  They had just heard on the news about the search for the killer's family.
"So do I, can you imagine how they feel?" Howie said and frowned.  He was sitting next to Valerie, who was quiet, but began to speak up.
"I know, their lives are almost over, everyone will probably hate them because of what that guy did."
"I know... I wouldn't though." Nick said.  They were told that the could finally leave the country since the murderer was found.  They were planning on leaving that night.
"The strangest thing just happened..." Brian said as he walked into the room and looked at the group of people that were lying all over the room.
"What?" Kevin asked, his arm around Kim.
"Well, I went out for a walk and I saw this girl, I could swear that she was the Princess." He said.
"Brian, forget it." AJ said, sitting on the floor with his arm around Jasmine's waist.
"Forget what?" He asked, sitting down in an empty chair.
"You can't go chasing after the Princess, can you imagine what she is feeling? The same with that guy's family." AJ said.
"I know..." Brian had just heard the recent report on the radio.
"Just forget about it." Kevin said, he didn't want to see his friend get hurt.
"Fine." He said and went into his room for a nap before they left.

Elizabeth left the building in tears, she knew she shouldn't have done it.  It would have been to hard if she kept it, she would loose it anyway, this was just easier.  In some ways more than others.
She went to the palace and cried, but this time she had no one to comfort her.  She was planning on moving out soon and starting over, she wanted to abandon the life of a Princess, she just wanted to be a regular person, if that was possible.  Maybe she would find someone new, but she wasn't sure that was what she wanted.
She told her mother-in-law that she was going to leave and she was saddened to hear it, but she agreed that it was the best thing that she could do.  She would be sorely missed in England.

"Hello?" Jen said, the hours of crying visible in her voice.
"Ms. Jennifer Thompson?" A voice asked.  The voice was English and sounded official.
"Yes?" She asked, sitting down in one of her two kitchen chairs.
"We have your father here, in England, we were wondering if you could come over here and answer some questions." The man said.
"No." She said, without even a moment's thought.
"Well, I am sorry but you have no choice." He said.
"Yes, I do." She said and hung up. "Damn it." She said, sitting by the phone. She just couldn't escape her past.  She nearly jumped out of her seat when the phone ran again.
         "Yes?" She asked, irritated.
"You have to come here, you really have no choice." The English voice repeated.
"Leave me alone!" She screamed and hung up the phone.  The phone rang again but she didn't pick it up, it stopped after ten rings.  Jen ran to the jack and pulled the cord out.  She ran to the closet and got her jacket and ran to her friends on the corner.
"Hi!" Harry said and smiled at her.  She handed him a sheet of paper and he ran it through with his bandmates. The began to sing and Jen smiled, that was what she wanted to hear.
         "Yeah." She whispered.
At the same time the guys were in their limo and passed the corner on their way home.
"STOP!" Nick yelled to the driver who stepped on the brake and Nick jumped out of the car and stand on the street and listened to the song.
"I love it." He said to the girl next to him.
"Thanks." She accidently said, not realizing what she said until after she said it.
"Huh? You wrote it?" He asked, smiling at her.
         "Yeah..." She said, embarrassed.
         "I'm Nick." He introduced himself.
"I am Jen." She said and shook his hand.  She stood on the corner and looked up and Nick.  He looked over her shoulder as she felt a pair of hands on her shoulders.  She turned around and looked at a man with a full police uniform on.
"I am sorry Jen, but you are going to have to come with us." The police officer said.
"No, I don't know anything, you have to talk to my father.  I have nothing to do with it!" She yelled and Nick looked at them in horror.
"I know, but they still need to talk to you. Please be quiet, we are in public." He said, the last thing he wanted was for the commissioner to find out that the girl had told the entire city of Orlando what they wanted her for.
"Why!?" She screamed and turned around, looking at Nick.  "This asshole over hear wants to drag me all the way over to England." She said and Nick was speechless, as well as the rest of the group that had gotten out of car.
         "I am sorry..." Nick said.
"Don't be! It is not my fault that my goddamn father killed the Prince of goddamn England!" She screamed and the police officer was speechless, as well as the crowd tha had gathered on the corner.  Nick looked at her with wide-eyes and she began to cry as the officer threw her into the
back of the car and sped down the road with the sirens wailing and the lights flashing.
