Princess Love - Chapter 25

Brian woke up and looked at Elizabeth and smiled.  She looked like an angel, he thought to himself.  He stood up and went into the bathroom.  He took a shower and quickly finished getting ready.  He stood at the mirror, fully clothed, shaving.  He finished and brushed his hair.  Elizabeth came behind him and put her arms around him.
"Hello B-Planet." She said and he turned around.  "What did you call me?" He laughed and looked down at her.
"B-Planet, because Brian rocks my planet.  Mmm.... maybe it should be B-Rock-Planet." She laughed.
"You can call me whatever you want." He said and she backed away, with a look of confusion on her face.  "What is it?" He asked worridly.
"Nothing, nevermind." She said and went back into the bedroom and got her clothes.  She went into the bathroom and changed, after shutting the door on Brian.  She walked back out in a yellow sundress, white heeled sandles and her hair down, just above her shoulders.
"What was wrong just then?" He asked.
"Well... when I first met Sean I started talking to him about his title.  I was wondering if he was called His Serene Highness or something like that and he said I could call him whatever I want... and I can call him anytime.  That just reminded me of him." She paused and sat back down on a chair.
"I'm sorry." Brian looked down at her.
"Don't be, they are all good memories.." She said and paused, she sounded like she was going to say something else, but she didn't. She turned her head to the side and looked at Brian for a minute.
"What?" He stood in front of her, in his jeans and t-shirt and looked at her blankly. "What? What is it? Do I have something on my face?" He asked and rubbed his face with his hands. "Is my hair sticking up?" He asked and smoothed back his hair.
"No... I am just looking at you." Slowly she let a smile appear on her lips.  He looked at her smiled back.
"Well, there is nothing special about me." He said and took a seat across from her.
"How can you say something like that, you are very special." She said and crossed her legs, studying his face.
"Not really.  I am like any normal person." He said and looked down.
"Brian, don't doubt yourself.  Sometimes I watch you and I wonder what is wrong.  You have this look on your face like you are on another planet.  You distance yourself from other people, why do you do that?" She said, her voice soft and smooth.  Brian continued to look at the floor.
"I don't know," he shrugged his shoulders, "it's just me I guess."
"There is absolutely nothing wrong with being you, I was just wondering.  You know you have a talent that will bring you far... it already has."
"And what can I give you?" He asked, slowly looking back up at her.
"You're love and kindness, what you have already done." She said and stood up.  "We should get going now." She spoke and she walked over to him and helped him up.
"Yes, I guess so." He wanted to go home, but he didn't say it.  He never wanted to act ungrateful or childish, but sometimes be missed being home, in his own bed with his own things.
"Brian, I know.  We will be home soon enough." She said and held on to his hand as they walked out into the hallway.  Now it was Brian who was watching her with fascination.
"How did you know I was thinking that?" He smiled.
"I feel the same way..." She trailed off.  She really didn't even have her own place to go. She had a little villa in Miami, but that wasn't home, that was a vacation spot.  A vacation spot where she spent lonely hours by herself.
"HELLO People!" AJ said and opened the door, holding on to the hand of Jasmine who walked out in a pale blue mini skirt and white t-shirt.
"Hi Bone." Brian said and looked at his friend.
         "Hi Jazz." Elizabeth said.
"Hi Lizzy." Jasmine said and smiled brightly.
"Now that is a new one!" Elizabeth laughed and saw the unsure look on Jasmine's face.  "But I like it." Jasmine smiled.
         "Good."
Slowly, everyone came out of their rooms and they made the trip back to the courtroom.  There were going to be the first witnesses called and Elizabeth thought she was going to be called first, but she didn't say anything.
The parked and sat for a minute, beginning the ritual that AJ said they should start.
"Ok, 1... 2... 3... DEEP BREATH!" AJ said and everyone took in a deep breath and jumped out of the van and ran up the stairs to the courtroom.  There were mobs of reporters waiting outside and they did their best to dodge them.
"Made it!" Kevin said and held the door open to the courtroom.  It was already almost full, the group took their seats and waited.
"You think you are going to be called?" Howie asked Elizabeth, whom he sat next to.
         "Yeah..." She said nervously.
"I know you will do your best, just do what AJ says." Howie said and Elizabeth nodded.  Before answering every question she was going to pause and take a deep breath to regain her composure.
"Thank you Howie." Elizabeth smiled at Howie and Brian smiled.  They all stood when the balif walked into the courtroom.  They then sat and waited.
They waited for awhile as the judge talked and whispered among themselves.  First, the prosectutor called Elizabeth.
"Elizabeth Grace O'Donnell." Elizabeth took a deep breath, squeezed Brian's hand and stood up.  She made her way to the podium and swore to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
"Okay Ms. O'Donnell, let me start off by asking you a few questions." Mr. Roberston said and Elizabeth nodded, taking a deep breath.
"Okay." She said and looked at Brian who nodded his head.
"Were you married to Prince Sean of England?"
         "Yes."
         "For how long?"
         "Two years."
"Did you see either of these men?" Mr. Robertson asked and pointed in the direction of the defendants.  She studied the men for a long moment and closed her eyes for a minute.  She took a minute, a long minute, and everyone waited.  Her mind rushed through two years of a life that she had begun to forget.
"Oh my god! Yes, I did!" She exclaimed and pointed in the direction of the twins.
         "Which one?" Mr. Robertson asked.
"Um...the one with the glasses.  John." She said, shocked that she had remembered that she had seen him before.
"Where did you see him?" The lawyer asked, standing next to Elizabeth, looking at the jury.
She thought for a minute and spoke again.  "One night Sean had a meeting so I went up to the attic and looked down, the attic was so high that I thought I could see the whole country, which probably wasn't true... Anyway, I looked down and it was dark but under the lamp post I saw a group of men.  I am sort of nosey so I got my binoculars and looked at them." She smiled and the people of the court snickered.  "I watched them, but I couldn't hear what they were saying, I just watched what they did.  There was a guy with glasses, him," she pointed to John, "and a guy who was handing him something.  I am not sure what it was but it was in a big bag.  They kept looking at the palace, in my direction.  John pointed up here a couple of times to.  Come to think of it, he had a girl with him." Elizabeth said and Jen froze.
"Is that all?" The lawyer asked.
"I passed him a couple of times too. Sometimes I would walk around, even though I knew I wasn't supposed to.  I heard him talk to another guy about the 'big event' I didn't think they knew I heard them, but I did." Elizabeth said.
"Is that all?" The lawyer asked.
"Any questions?" The judge asked the defense.
"No, but we may call her later." The judge nodded and the defense attorney stood up.
"I would like to call Miss Samantha Thompson." Jen froze, this time harder.
         "No!" She screamed and fainted...
She hadn't seen her sister in a year.  There was six years old, she couldn't believe that they could call a six year up.  The last time she had seen her was when she had thrown her sister from the open window down to the neighbors, saving the little girl from the burning house that there father had set.  Now she layed in a trance, not believing that she had heard what she had heard.  It all seemed like one huge neverending nightmare.
