Princess Love - Chapter 23

The next couple of days were fast and busy.  AJ called London once to announce that he didn't plan on coming back any time soon, and he would disclose his reasons.  When he called he sounded happy and relaxed and the guys were happy, as long as he wasn't getting himself into any trouble.
Jen tried to stay at the hotel for most of her time, she wanted to veg-out before the trial, she wanted to be strong on the stand and throughout the whole trial.
The day of the trial Jen woke up early and went down to the restaurant to eat.  She went back up to her room and waited for everyone else to wake up.  Nick was sprawled out on the double bed, his hair a mess and he didn't seem to be anywhere near waking up.
         "If the stars didn't shine
         The sun didn't rise
         I would search for you
Come to me..." She sang and walked around the room.
Jen had been the one behind the reunion of Jasmine and AJ.  She had been talking to Jasmine ever since the two had broke up.  AJ didn't know that she had been in contact with her and if he did he probably would have killed Jen.  Jen had been the first to know about the wrong diagnosis and didn't tell anyone about it.  She had also written the song that AJ had sung to
Jasmine.  She had given it to AJ when he had been depressed and he seemed to enjoy it, and it had come in handy.
Nick heard her singing and slowly sat up, but she didn't hear him.
         "Through the darkness
Flowing with the hot sands... AH!!!!" She turned around and stared at Nick who had come behind her.
"Did I scare you?" He said and looked at her with a goofy smile.
         "NO!" She said sarcastically.
"Sorry."  He said, whispering in ear and he began to blow in her ear, she squirmed under his hands.
"Nick..." She said and backed away.
"Sorry." He said and went in the bathroom.  He stood in the bathroom and turned the water on.  He jumped under the warm water and stood there for a moment.
Jen stood in the bedroom and nodded to herself, she was ready.  She walked to the bathroom door and opened it, then shut it as quietly as possible.  She stood facing the curtain but Nick didn't see her.  She took her hair down from the ponytail and shook her head, letting her hair fall down past her shoulders. She reached back and unzipped her dress, letting it fall to her feet.  She took off everything and slowly, but not reluctantly, walked to the shower curtain and opened it.  Nick looked at her for a minute, surprise written all over her face.  He gave her his hand and helped her in.  She looked up at him, the water falling down over both of them.
"I won't hurt you, ever.  Don't be scared." He said and she nodded. Jen backed up against the shower wall and Nick slowly came towards her and kissed her gently, running his hands over her. She reached up and put his face in her hands and he slowly came towards her and she held him as they became one.

"Where are they?" Brian asked inpatiently as he paced the hallway.
"Relax... we still have two hours, let's go down to lunch." Elizabeth offered and Brian nodded.
"Okay." He smiled at her and they walked down, hand in hand.

Jen opened her eyes and looked up at Nick, reluctantly this time. She was scared, she couldn't believe she had done it, but as she looked at him she knew it had been right.  She felt so safe with him, she knew she had given herself to the right man.
Nick put his arms around her and whispered in her ear, "I love you." The words that she had been waiting for.  She had heard them come from his mouth before, but this time it meant more to her than it had ever meant.  He held her and turned off the water and looked down at her.
"You're shaking." He said and got out of the shower and got two towels.  He wrapped one around his waist and walked up to her and she walked out of the shower, standing before him in all of her glory.  She took the towel from his hand, not saying anything, just wrapping herself in it.
He leaned over and put his arms around her. "I'm sorry..." He whispered.
"For what?" She asked, barely able to get the words out.
"I... I... we should have waited." He said and looked up at her and she shook her head.
"No, I wanted to."  She said and looked down at the floor, wondering if maybe she wasn't good enough for him.
"Good, I just never want to rush you or hurt you." He said and smiled down at her and she nodded.
The two got dressed and went downstairs, they had a trial that needed to be fought and won.

AJ sat by the pool and looked around.  He knew that it was the day of the trial and he sort of regreted not being there for his friends.  He knew that it was only going to be the opening arguements; but he still wanted be there.
"You wanna go, don't you?" Jasmine asked as she walked in from the living room out to the patio with lemonade.
"Huh? Yeah, you read my mind." He said and looked up at her.
Jasmine was now unemployed, but she didn't mind.  She didn't want to be a doctor any more; the risk was to high and she didn't think that AJ would ever let her anyway.
"Let's go!" She said and walked back into the house with the tray and he smiled.
They ran upstairs, packed and headed to the airport.  Soon they would be in London and would get there just in time for the trial...
